ANEM - A(ssociation) of I(ndependent) E(lectronic) M(edia) is the business association comprised of 28 radio stations and 16 television companies as well as of more than 60 affiliated organizations.

ANEM was founded in 1993, and in 1997 it became a registered company in accordance with the Serbian Law on Companies.

According to the quantity of program and service zones, ANEM members are big and small stations, local and regional, they cultivate different music styles... What is in common to all of them - news broadcast program that strives to achieve the highest professional standards.

After October 5, 2000, around 100 radio and TV stations applied for membership into Association and some of them became affiliate members.

Radio ANEM covers:

  • 60% of the territory of Serbia
  • 70% of the population

TV ANEM covers:

  • 35% of the territory of Serbia
  • 50% of the population

MISSION

  • Establishment of politically independent legal framework and of economically viable environment for the development of electronic media.
  • Improvement of the professional and technical standards in the media sphere in order to meet the needs of the audience and serve the public interest in a proper way.

VISION

  • To help the adoption and application of media laws.
  • To acquaint the media with the highest professional journalistic and technical standards.
  • To help the stations to become profitable and economically independent without interfering with the freedom of speech principles.
  • To improve the cooperation with associations and media in the region and worldwide.

ANEM campaigns

ANEM will launch soon a new web site “ANEM Campaigns”, which enables users to participate in on-line campaigns regarding media reforms.
