LAST WARNING FOR PERMIT-LESS BROADCASTERS
BELGRADE, November 1, 2006. (BETA) - The RRA has called on all radio and TV stations who do not have licenses to stop broadcasting. The Republic Broadcasting Agency (RRA) called on all Belgrade stations who are operating permit-less to turn off their transmitters and to stop breaking the law. In its public statement, the Agency said that they are doing this in order to avoid unnecessary and unpleasant implementation of laws, adding that the Broadcasting Law and the Telecommunication Law for broadcasting programs without necessary licenses call for very strict monetary fines for any illegal activity. The Agency has published its request in the Belgrade press with an open letter which explains the procedure for turning off stations that do not have the proper licenses for broadcasting.
