KOJADINOVIC: NO DEADLINE EXTENSION
BELGRADE, March 7, 2006 – Serbian Culture and Media Minister Dragan Kojadinovic said the deadline for privatisation of the print media would not be extended. Kojadinovic also said the print media, failing to conclude their privatisation by April 23, would have to terminate their operations. Kojadinovic stated that there had been enough time for the process, adding that more time for the privatisation could not be given, since the Public Information Act ought to be amended. Kojadinovic told Belgrade media that he did not understand why the Broadcast Agency Council had firmly decided to shut down the Third Channel of Radio Television Serbia. He said that, under the Broadcast Act, this channel could be sold as a brand but without the frequency and any warranties that it would get one in the frequency allocation competition.
