WHO’S OBSTRUCTING PRIVATISATION OF NOVOSTI?

BELGRADE, May 24, 2005 – Member of the Association of Small Shareholders of “Novosti” Miroslav Turudic urged people close to “certain circles of political and financial oligarchy” to refrain themselves from obstructing the transformation process of ownership of this company. According to Turudic, the small shareholders, owning 63 percent of the company’s shares, would otherwise make public the list of people who have been obstructing the process and negotiating the deal in the name of the company. Turudic announced the Novosti shareholders’ assembly for June 4, and accused Novosti Director General Manojlo Vukotic for conspiring with the management and company’s Managing Board in “buying time” and deliberately postponing the Assembly.
