Kragujevac, December 18, 2013 ( Beta, Mondo ) - The editor and the weekly "Svetlost", which is no longer being published, have to pay a 790,000 dinar fine for an article published in June 1994.

The Court of Appeals in Kragujevac ruled that the editor Miroslav Jovanovic and the weekly "Svetlost", which is no longer being published, have to pay a 790,000 dinar fine for an article that was published 19  years ago - for the damage caused to owners of a private pharmacy, it was announced today in Kragujevac.

The court sentenced Jovanovic and the weekly "Svetlost" for pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages for claims in a private lawsuit which sought more than 22 million dinars. It is a text entitled "The Robbery" of 9 June 1994, when Miroslav Jovanovic was the responsible editor of "Svetlost". Jovanovic  is now the editor of  the weekly "Kragujevac Newspaper" founded in 2009, while the (weekly) "Svetlost" has a record at The Serbian Business Registers Agency, but the newspaper with that name is no longer being published.
