Bianconi: Founders to provide independence

Belgrade, November 23, 2013 (Dnevnik) Ministry of culture and  media continues to support media in the languages of national minorities by cofinancing their projects and thus encouraging them in the market transformation and adjustment - State Secretary in that Ministry Gordana Predic said yesterday at the gathering about national minority media, organized by "Magyar Szo" newspapers.

"Media in Serbia are going through multiple crisis, financial, ethical, and professional and therefore, adequate legal regulation is being prepared which should contribute to the enhancement of media scene in our country".

Luca Bianconi from EU delegation in Serbia reminded of the fact that national minorities' councils have legal possibility to found media outlets, but he warned that their role includes obligation to secure editorial and financial independence of these media.
